Elena Arcangeli

Elena was born in Florence in 1972 and graduated from the high school for visual arts in 1991. In 1994 she enrolled in The Florence Academy of Art and completed the painting program in 1998. At the same time she began to work as a
decorative painter for private clients. After the academic training, Elena worked to find her own style. Her search for more spontaneity in painting composition leads her to depict interiors of her living space. Pictures of her life which could tell little stories, translating the traditional concept of ‘still life’ into an intimate experience. Elena’ s specific talent for figure drawing leads her to focus on portraits, investigating characters and on nudes of women caught many times in the privacy of their thoughts. She has participated in numerous national and international group exhibitions. In 2004 she received a grant from the Pollock Krasner Foundation, New York. She currently lives and works in Florence.
